Admission 2023: Updates in the Procedure

In 2023, Siberian Federal University provides 8237 places (both state-funded and fee-paid) for first-year students: 6269 are bachelor’s and specialist’s programs, 1700 — master’s programs, and 268 — postgraduate programs.

The University has approved a list of admission tests and minimum scores required for the admission competition for bachelor’s and specialist’s programs (in accordance with the admission policy for 2023).

So, what’s new? Siberian Federal University launches new bachelor’s programs: Religious Studies (School for the Humanities), Plant-Based Food (School of Trade and Services), Pedagogical Education with specialization in Physical Education and Vital Activity Safety (School of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism), Design and Technology of Electronics and Radioelectronic Systems and Complexes (School of Engineering Physics and Radio Electronics). In addition, the School of Space and Information Technology continues the admission for the Games and Applications Development online program.

When applying for the bachelor’s, specialist’s or master’s programs, please keep in mind the following:

  1. Priority. When applying for the admission in 2023, you need to choose the areas of study and list them in the order of priority: from the most preferable to the least. This will be the order for enrolment.
  2. The consent to enrolment for state-funded programs (which was needed in 2022) is not required in 2023! However, the applicants for fee-paid service places should submit the original/copy of the document confirming qualification plus the consent to enrol for the fee-paid places.
  3. In 2023, the deadline for submitting the documents for different modes of study is the same. So, when applying for state-funded places, we recommend applicants to indicate their concern in competitions for all modes of study: full-time, part-time, extramural. In August, it will be possible to apply only for fee-paid service places (for bachelor’s and specialist’s degree programs).
  4. The minimum ACT scores requirements stay the same.
  5. For the training programs with the admission requirements of the results of the Unified State Examination (ЕГЭ) in mathematics, only profile mathematics examination results are considered.
  6. The Admission 2023 for bachelor’s and specialist’s programs opens on 20 June. More information will be available on SibFU web.

The information on applying for the master’s programs is available in the relevant section. Those applying for the postgraduate programs should not only choose a speciality but also specify their scientific supervisor.
