Within the Krasnoyarsk Book Fair a round table discussion devoted to the establishment of the Siberian Association of University Editors was held on November 6, 2008. Siberian Federal University proposed to unite scientific publishing houses to consolidate joint efforts on promotion of editing and publishing.
Establishment of such Association will benefit to books’ distribution and exchange between the Siberian universities. This will lead to the increase of the Russian scientific citation index (RSCI) which nowadays is the most important indicator of scientific activity of a separate teacher, as well as the University in general.
Merger of the scientific publishing houses on the SibFU basis will allow Siberian universities to organize joint projects on printed and electronic editions promotion at the Russian and international level. Moreover, the Association will be functioning for the protection of Siberian and Far East universities’ interests in the field of publishing in partnership with State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles, Russian Book Chamber and other state and public organizations in Russia and abroad.
