National symposium on the Arctic territories will be held in Krasnoyarsk on the 27-28th of February, 2009 within the framework of VI Krasnoyarsk economic forum.
The main goal of the symposium is to exchange research results in the field of environmental economics, economics of non-renewable and renewable resources, climatic change, sustainable socio-economic development, efficient and optimal utilization of natural resources of the arctic zone and make assistance to the international co-operation in these fields of knowledge.
Scientific concepts:
1. Maintenance of sustainable natural resources management of the arctic zone;
2. Rational distribution of transport and telecommunication systems;
3. Socio-economic development of the Arctic Region, preservation of ethnic communities’ culture and way of life;
4. Maintenance of ecological safety. Remediation of contaminated environment;
5. Development of scientific and innovative activities in the field of arctic zone sustainable development;
6. Civil society development in terms of realization of the Russian Arctic transition to sustainable development;
7. Regional policy and legal status of the Russian Arctic;
8. International co-operation in the field of scientific research in the arctic zone.
