Siberian GEO-forum was held in Krasnoyarsk.
Siberian Federal University was represented by Institute of Mining, Geology and Geotechnology, Institute of Engineering Physics and Radio Electronics, Institute of Urban Construction, Management and Regional Economics, Institute of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, Institute of Space and Information Technology.

Within the framework of the forum, there was held roundtable discussion called «Conditions and development problems of the geo-engineering services market in the Siberian federal district». The roundtable discussion was devoted to the prospects for the development of companies and enterprises which function on the market of exploratory, scientifically consulting, analytical, project designing and other services in the field of mining, geology and geodesy. The representatives of 24 companies from Krasnoyarsk Region and other Siberian regions working in the field of engineering and geotechnical investigation and also carrying out scientific and analytical work for mining and geological companies participated in the roundtable discussion.

The pressure group was formed on the GEO-forum. The decision was taken to create a regional autonomous organization devoted to geotechnical investigation in Krasnoyarsk. The organization consisted of the representatives of Geologists and Mining Industrialists Association of Krasnoyarsk Region, ОАО «SibtsvetmetNIIproekt», ООО «Prognoz-Izyskaniya», ООО «Statika», ОАО «KrasnoyarskTISIz», ОАО «Krasnoyarskgrazhdanproekt», ZAO «Krasnoyarsk drilling company». Siberian Federal University was elected as a head organization coordinating the process of creating the regional autonomous organization devoted to geotechnical investigation in Krasnoyarsk.
The roundtable discussion became the area of brainstorming the issues concerning the lack of opportunities for making a research to reveal ore preparation characteristics in Krasnoyarsk Region.

The decision was taken to coordinate activities and consolidate efforts of ОАО «SibtsvetmetNIIproekt», SibFU, ICCT SB RAS and Engineering Center of ZAO «Polyus» with the aim of setting up the in-house facilities for carrying out ore pilot plant tests.
During the discussion of problems concerning mining-and-geological branch of industry, A.I. Kosolapov, the professor of SibFU raised the question about the liability of reconsideration of a number of obsolete rules of mining plant engineering. A.V. Gehman, the representative of Federal State Institution «Krasnoyarsk Center of metrology standardization and certification» reported about the liability of activation of region enterprises and particular specialized SibFU departments to create technical committees devoted to preparation of regulations concerning a certain type of work and products.

According to the results of Siberian GEO-forum, future considerations and exhibit items of Institute of Mining, Geology and Geotechnology and Institute of Engineering Physics and Radio Electronics of SibFU were awarded with diplomas.
