«Maslenitsa festival» or winter farewell celebration was held on the 1st of March, 2009 in Siberian Federal University.

Traditional winter farewell celebration turned into a real health-improving celebration in SibFU! Skiing race of annual competition called «Liveliness and health» was organized for all comers. What’s more, there were children starts, funny relays, competitions concerning pull-ups on a high bar and pick-ups a weight, football competitions and horse-riding. All visitors were able to grab a bite in a chow wagon which was full of different food such as porridge, tea and traditional pancakes. Creative teams of SibFU Center of Student Culture entertained all comers with bright performances during the celebration.

Traditionally, winter farewell celebration ended up with scarecrow-burning and joyful meeting of welcome spring!
