Siberian Open Chess Festival «E2-E4» was held in May 6-7, 2009 in Krasnoyarsk.
The slogan of the Festival was «Everybody is playing!». SibFU students, pupils from different parts of Krasnoyarsk Krai, eminent chess-players and even small children took part in the Event.

1342 chess-players participated in the tournament. It was the biggest amount of participants over the history of the Festival. Organizing committee pointed out that the Guinness record had already been achieved in nomination «the most simultaneous games of chess ever played in one location» (1214 participants) in 2007. This year the Festival held in Siberian Federal University surpassed all expectations and broke its own record.

The tournament finals were held in the Institute of Space and Information Technology of Siberian Federal University in May 7, 2009. The finals were based on the knock-out system.

The winners (50 chess-players) were awarded with the unique table games.
