The 2nd tour of the National Student Culturology Academic Competition was held in the Ussuriysk State Pedagogical Institute on May 28, 2009. III-IV-year students from 10 higher education institutions of Siberia (Yakutsk, Chita, Krasnoyarsk) and Far East (Primorsky Region: Vladivostok, Komsomol'sk-na-Amure, Ussuriysk, etc.) took part in the Event.

The academic competition was held in the following nominations: «The history of national and foreign culturological concept», «Russian culture on the world stage», «The intercourse of cultures and civilizations», «Trends of cultural universalization in the world process». Participants passed a test in history and a theory of culturological concept and wrote the essay concerning «World-wide globalization: standardization problems». Students also took part in the roundtable discussion on the topic «Russian culture on the world stage» where they not only expressed their views in public but also suggested some ways of overcoming the present-day situation.

Kazakova, Students of the Institute for the Humanities, Scholars of the Oxford Russia Fund were awarded with the 1st-degree diploma and the laureate diploma of the 2nd tour of the National Student Culturology Academic Competition. K.A. Bulak, Student of the Institute for the Humanities, Scholar of the Oxford Russia Fund was also awarded with the certificate of the Competition.
