Sergei Bogdanchikov, President of Rosneft visited Siberian Federal University on June 10, 2009.

It is necessary to recall that the decision of Rosneft to participate in the construction of the educational laboratory building of SibFU Institute of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering was made during the last official visit of the Rosneft President on November 13, 2008. After a month, Sergei Bogdanchikov signed an order on December 18, 2008 to allocate 700 million rubles for the construction of the new block of SibFU Institute of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering.

Sergei Bogdanchikov visited the site where the new educational laboratory building of SibFU Institute of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering is planned to be built. President of Rosneft was pleased to notice that the building is setting up ahead of schedule. The new educational laboratory building will be ready to welcome students on August 25, 2010.

Furthermore, Sergei Bogdanchikov delivered the lecture called «Trends of world oil extraction. Significance of the oil industry in Russia» for faculty and students of Siberian Federal University. Sergei Bogdanchikov is not only the President of Rosneft, he is also Professor, Head of Department of global energy policy and energy security of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy of MGIMO-University that’s why he decided to lecture for all comers.

Nicolai N. Dovzhenko, Vice-Rector for Innovation and Development said that public lectures are on the run and top-managers from the fast-moving oil companies are expected to lecture in the University. Moreover, innovative educational programmes concerning oil & gas industry are coordinated at the moment equally the material and technical base for situation and virtual reality centers is formed.
