The SibFU delegation visited the JSC “Information Satellite Systems – Reshetnev Company” on July 28, 2009. The general purpose of the visit was to discuss the issues concerning target preparation of students, scientific collaboration and establishment of Basic Research Department. The meeting was held within the framework of the Agreement on strategic partnership signed by the JSC “ISS – Reshetnev Company”, the SibFU and the Institute of Computational Modeling SB RAS.

The SibFU delegation led by Vladimir I. Kolmakov Provost and Vice-Rector - Academic Affairs and Research included Directors of the SibFU Institutes. The delegation later visited a number of project, design and production subdivisions of the Company. The delegation expressed keen interest in training highly – qualified and experienced systems engineers in Siberian Federal University. «We will analyze all the information and make suggestions concerning target preparation of specialists», said Vladimir I. Kolmakov, the Provost and Vice-Rector – Academic Affairs and Research.

Furthermore, the delegation and the senior management of the Company decided to establish Department of Applied Physics and Space Technologies on the base of the JSC “ISS – Reshetnev Company”. Victor Kosenko, Deputy Chief Designer and Deputy Chief Manager of the Company said: «The decision to establish the Department is aimed at recruiting more specialists for the Company and attracting the SibFU scientific potential to implement the newest space-qualified hardware».
