New web site for SibFU's Library and University Press was launched on 1 February 2014. The site was updated after a year of hard work. New library web site was benchmarked against distinguished libraries and research institutes and it has a mobile version.

SibFU is a part of a new list of international universities recognized by China. The document has been published by the Ministry of Education's web site. The listing is another step to prove the university has been working to collaborate with the east.

The RF Ministry of Education and Science announced the forty two awardees of the fourth competition to carry out research led by a prominent scientist. The awardees include two SibFU's projects.

SibFU and University of Tromso The Arctic University of Norway signed a five year agreement on collaboration and academic exchange on 17 December 2013. The agreement includes provisions for joint research, completed projects, developing study programmes, conducting conferences, workshops, and developing academic exchange for faculty and students.

Researchers from the Institute of Engineering Physics and Radio Electronics, SibFU, and staff members from the Centre of Modern Cardiology successfully transferred an ultrasound image on 12 December 2013.

SibFU's Rector Eugene Vaganov will represent higher education on the Trustee Board of Russian Science Foundation. RF President Vladimir Putin signed the document on 12 December 2013. Eugene Vaganov is the only representative of higher education on the Trustee Board.

SibFU's representatives visited two Chinese universities to discuss academic mobility and joint research. The universities were Metrpolitan Pedagogical University (Beijing) and Shandong University (Jinan).

SibFU joined the Russian-Chinese Association of Economic Universities on 23 November 2013 in Beijing.The Association aims at developing research and education in collaboration to support economic policy and economic development in Russia and China.

SibFU hosted international conferfence 'Student Sports: current state, challenges and trends' on 21 November 2013' The conference attracted representatives of eight countries and seventeen RF regions.

Lappeenranta University of Technology's delegation visited SibFU on 12 November 2013. The Finnish university is among SibFU's international strategic partners.
