SibFU's library and Krasnoyarsk Krai's State Archive signed an agreement on the online access to digital copies of archival documents from the library premises.

Krasnoyarsk Krai Governor Lev Kuznetsov and Krasnoyarsk Assembly Chair Alexander Uss visited The Student Universiade's Headquarters at SibFU. Ten universities in the region established similar students' unions as a part of a bidding campaign to host Winter Universiade in 2019.

According to a leading rating agency Expert RA, SibFU ranks ninth among top Russian universities teaching programmes in Economics and related subjects. SibFU ranks tenth among technical universities.

SibFU hosted a second public lecture in "Enlightenment" lecture series on 23 March 2013. Ivan Makarov spoke about research and applications at the foundation of «DELTA» and «GAMMA» pilotless aircrafts.

Institute of Mining, Geology and Geotechnology, SibFU, observes growing interest of Russian major mining companies towards the Institute's alumni and students. According to Vladimir Makarov, the Institute's Director, the mining companies' demand and offers of internships have been quite trendy for three years.

Institute of Engineering Physics and Radio Electronics, SibFU, and MTS telecom operator signed a collaboration agreement. MTS will contribute to developing the university's teaching programmes for IT specialists.

SibFU released grant results for 2012. The university developed and submitted 959 applications to various funding agencies and it accepted 230 grants with the funding of 132,1 million roubles.

Professor Vladimir Shaidurov, Head of the Department of Computational and Information Technologies at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science received the RF Government 2012 Award in Science and Technology. Professor Shaidurov has a co-appointment as Director, Institute of Computational Modelling at the Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch.

SibFU's specialists attended a working meeting on developing nuclear medicine in the region. The meeting was also attended by senior management from Krasnoyarsk Regional Clinical Oncological Diagnostic Centre and Siberian Clinical Centre of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency.

Krasnoyarsk Assembly Chair Alexander Uss had a meeting with the winners of the national championship for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition on 22 February 2013.
