The official reception of John Beyrle, the US Ambassador to the Russian Federation and his wife Jocelyn Greene was held on the 23d of March, 2009 in Spaso House, the residence of the U.S. ambassador in Moscow.

Within the framework of the events aimed at broadening international links of Siberian Federal University, Krasnoyarsk city is welcoming the Santander Bank delegation headed by Emilio Botin, the President of the Santander Group, during the period from April 14-16, 2009.

Siberian Federal University signed the agreement of cooperation with the SPSU.

The National Junior Judo Championship was held in March 17, 2009 in Krasnoyarsk. Philip Ivanov, Student of Physical Education and Sports Department won gold medal in the Championship. As a result of the Championship, Philip was selected to take part in the World Championship.

Siberian Federal University signed an agreement with Tokyo Boeki CIS Ltd. (Japanese Company). According to the agreement, the Company awards best students, PG students and young scientists of Siberian Federal University with eight name scholarships («Tokyo Boeki scholarship») for great achievements in learning and scientific activities which contribute to exam marks, published scientific works, conference reports.

The XVII-th International Education Fair was held from March, 4 till March, 6, 2009 in the International Exhibition Center «ITE Siberian Fair» (Novosibirsk-City). The Event was devoted to instructional media, equipment, materials; training methods and technologies; innovative concepts and experience.

People who would like to take up postgraduate courses of all specializations are able to send admission application and other necessary documents to Siberian Federal University from the 20th of March, 2009 to the 28th of August, 2009.

World Ski Orienteering Championship was held in March 3-8, 2009 in Rusutsu, ski resort on Hokkaido near Sapporo-city (Japan).

The IX Congress of Russian Rectors’ Union was held in March 19-21, 2009 in Moscow. Eugene A. Vaganov, Academician of RAS, Rector of Siberian Federal University participated in the Event.

«Young leaders of SibFU» is a competition devoted to revelation and support of active students who are interested in SibFU development. After the complex shortlisting, a group of active students was formed to visit foreign and Russian higher education institutions in order to gain some experience in the field of university development.
